Once in a village, there lived a farmer who remained ill. His condition was critical and there was no one to help him. He had a land and house as his property but had taken a loan from a rich person of the village keeping his land as mortgage. Even knowing about his critical condition that rich person asked the farmer to repay all the money he took from him else he would take his house. The farmer had only one day to repay his money and the only source of income was farming his land. He told his problem to one of his friend. His friend was clever, he made a plan . He managed to spread the news that the land of that ill farmer is a golden land . There are many gold coins hidden there. Hearing this the rich person farmed whole land overnight and found nothing . He understood that there was nothing hidden there. And understood how his greed made him farm the whole land. The farmer by earned money selling crops after sometime and repaid loan money.
Thus the person was egoist . He thought of his benefits only.
2) Egotist : Egotist is a person who considers himself as supreme or self-absorbed , self-love. (अहंकारी)
Some people talk only about what they can do, how good they are at all things , and make themselves the center of all topics, they are known as an egotist.
Story
The Famous proverb slow and steady wins the race best depicts the egotist rabbit.
In the story rabbit challenges Tortoise that he could never win the race as tortoise is very slow. He considered himself faster and stronger than tortoise. He Underestimated tortoise and lost the race. Thus his egotist behaviour that he is best and he will easily win the race even if he rests made him lose the race
Narcissus
You can also refer story of narcissus who loved himself so much that he kept on looking at himself and his self obsession killed him.
